Oktoberfest and Eastern Europe

Above there is a map that shows where we were. Click on the location on the map for blogs about each city or you can just click on the city name at the top of each page.
I mentioned right after Colleen and I started dating that for my 30th birthday I'd like to be sitting at Oktoberfest with a PhD in hand. Colleen couldn't speed along my graduation date, but she did figure out a couple years ago that Oktoberfest actually began on the day of my 30th birthday that year so the plan was set in motion for that portion of the trip.

For choosing the rest of the locations, the logic went like this. Colleen has Polish roots and I have Czech roots so those countries were on the list. Budapest and Vienna also made the list because those are two of the must see citys in Eastern Europe. Bratislava made the list because of its close proximity to Vienna. Ljubljana honestly made the list because of the "Rutar" store that was located there ... but we found out the city had much more to offer than that. Finally, we added Salzburg to the list as a good stopping point before heading back to Munich to fly out at the end of our trip.
